About Us

The Heritage Conference is a group of 10 schools located in or near Indiana County: Blairsville, Homer-Center, Ligonier Valley, Marion Center, Northern Cambria, Penns Manor, Purchase Line, Saltsburg, United and West Shamokin (see the icons below). The Heritage Conference is part of District 6 of the PIAA.

Many of the schools currently in the Heritage Conference were part of the former Appachian Conference, which ended in 1999. Two of the schools, Blairsville and Saltsburg, form one school district, the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District. After the 2009-2010 school year, Laurel Valley and Ligonier Valley, which formed the Ligonier Valley School District, consolidated and became one school in Ligonier.

Beginning with the 2016-17 school year, West Shamokin joined the Heritage Conference to again bring the total school membership to 10.

The Heritage Conference was started in 2000 to showcase academics, activities and athletics in the conference and to highlight the hard work of our students.
